Hilal Uzuner (1999, Amsterdam)
The feeling of charcoal dust on my hands as I set up the table. Time moves fast, everyone eager to take their place. Slowly, I place plates, utensils, and glasses, arranging them carefully. I wonder, when will it be my turn at this table?
I’m interested in worship as a practice: how belief shapes bodies, behaviours, and relationships. My position is somewhere in between, observing, questioning, and negotiating proximity and distance. What do we place our faith in, and what does it ask of us? How do we navigate connection across different systems of thought?
