Hilal Uzuner (1999)

Raised in the Netherlands by her Turkish family, Hilal's art combines influences from both cultures. As an illustrator, she captures everyday moments and feelings, exploring themes of heritage, religion, and personal identity.

Her artwork showcases the beauty and complexity of her background by blending traditional and modern elements. Inspired by daily life, rituals, and stories, her faith adds a spiritual layer to her work.

Through drawing, Hilal navigates the in-between spaces, expressing inner thoughts and conflicts that arise from her experiences between both cultures. She aims to reveal her true self and celebrate the diversity that shapes her, ultimately seeking to build understanding and appreciation for the many facets of cultural and personal identity.
